10K, 5K and Family Fun runs this weekend

The 32nd annual 10K, 6.2-mile road race and the newer 3.1-mile 5K race are scheduled for this Saturday, Nov. 7 at 10 a.m. on Park Avenue between Merrick Road and Sunrise Highway opposite the Fantasy Theatre.

The annual one-mile Family Fun Run is on the same day— at 9 a.m. —on Front Street in front of the LIRR station. The entry fee for the Fun Run is $9 and families may sign up at the Rec Center or at Village Hall on race day.

The 5K follows the 10K course north on Park, east on Maple, north on Brower and west on Linden, but then turns south on Hempstead, west on Lakeview and comes to the finish line on Front Street via North Centre Avenue. Race day registration at Village Hall costs $27 for the 10K and $19 for the 5K. The races are co-sponsored by the Rockville Centre Chamber of Commerce.
