Kevin McDonough earns Bar Association Award

Nassau County Bar Association President Martha Krisel has presented her 2016 President’s Award to attorney Kevin McDonough of Rockville Centre, in appreciation for his outstanding service and dedication to the Bar, particularly his involvement in construction renovations at the Nassau County Bar Association building in Mineola.

When Martha Krisel unexpectedly ascended to the role of president following the passing of President Steve Eisman last year, McDonough quickly stepped in to take over her responsibilities of overseeing the construction.

“The contractors love working with him, even though he is firm in ensuring that everything is done properly, within budget and on time,” Krisel said. “He was a great help to me, taking this huge project off my plate with the many new duties I had to address. I deeply appreciate his efforts.”

Kevin McDonough chairs the higher education practice at Cullen and Dykman LLP, Garden City, and focuses his practice on not-for-profit and education law and related litigation, real estate, zoning and land use matters. For more than 25 years he has counseled universities, colleges, hospitals, religious entities and non-for-profit institutions in the New York metropolitan areas.

A long-time active Nassau County Bar Association member, McDonough has served as Co-Chair of the Real Property Law Committee and was elected a Director of the Board last year. He is also a Village Justice for the Village of Rockville Centre.

McDonough served four years on active duty in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of Captain, before earning his law degree from Fordham University Law School.
