Halloween highjinks was afoot at United Church in Rockville Centre on Sunday as it played host to an event that embodied the spirit of the holiday.
Parishioners, staff members, religious leaders and children gathered outside the church for the celebration. Children were given candy and other treats, while the Rev. Scott Ressman and many others got into the Halloween spirit by carving jack-‘o-lanterns.
Tom Hodge made it extra special for the children, dressing as a large bear and greeting them as they trick-or-treated.
