A mission of compassion

The staff of Catholic Home Care celebrated National Home Care Month, and Thanksgiving, at a breakfast on Nov. 17 in their Rockville Centre office. Comprised of nurses, therapists, social workers, clerical staff, chaplains and home health aides, the staff demonstrates the mission of quality and compassionate care for all, by personally contributing to The Patient Assistance Fund they established. They have deductions voluntarily taken from their pay checks on a regular basis, and the money is deposited into the fund that assists the neediest patients across Long Island who are on home care services. These are Long Island residents who are not only impacted by the tough economic climate but also face serious debilitating illness and need support with the basics such as groceries, utility bills, or medical supplies. Some of the money donated by staff was used for Thanksgiving baskets for the families in need.
