A 36-year-old Freeport man was arrested on April 14 in connection with five burglaries to businesses in Rockville Centre, Oceanside and Freeport.

Nassau County First Squad detectives said Pedro Infante of Washington Place began the string of burglaries by breaking into American Burgers on Sunrise Highway on Nov. 13, 2009, and continued them until April 13.

Among the other businesses he allegedly targeted were Millennium Discount in Freeport on Dec. 14; The Biggest Banana in Oceanside on March 26; Hoo King Chinese Restaurant in Oceanside on April 5 and Oceanside’s Sole Restaurant on April 13.

The arrest took place when Infante reported to the New York State Parole office in Farmingdale at 5:45 p.m.

Infante is charged with five counts of burglary 3rd degree in connection with the break-ins, all of which occurred between midnight and 2 a.m.

In each case, police said, with the exception of the April 13 burglary, when he reportedly fled without anything after setting off an audible alarm, Infante allegedly forced his way into the businesses and stole cash. Evidence he left behind during one of the burglaries ultimately led to his arrest, police said.

Infante was arraigned on April 15 in First District Court in Hempstead.
