On Saturday, May 30, the Rockville Centre Chamber of Commerce held its second annual EAT.SHOP.ROCK street fair.
This year’s EAT.SHOP.ROCK was even better than last year, with dozens of participating Rockville Centre businesses and an estimated 5,000 attendees — spurred on, in no small part, by the gorgeous weather of the day.
The fair features only Rockville Centre businesses, giving them an opportunity to gather together and show off their wares. Additionally, the day acted as a fundraiser for both the chamber and for two local charities — the Tommy Brull Foundation, which helps fund various special-needs programs in the area, and Tour4ACure, an effort spearheaded by Rockville Centre resident and musician Brian Ripps to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Additionally, the Chamber and the village took time to honor longtime Rockville Centre Herald Sales Representative Karen Resnick, who died early this year after a long battle with cancer.
