On Jan. 25 at 9:37 a.m., the manager of Bigelow’s Restaurant reported that two people attempted to steal used cooking oil from the rear parking lot of the building.

Identity theft

At 1:21 p.m. on Jan. 25, a resident reported that someone used her personal information to withdraw money from her bank account.

Unusual incident

A Florida resident notified police that she was the victim of an online real estate rental scam on Lincoln Avenue on Jan. 24 at 4 p.m.

Leaving the scene

On Jan. 26 at 7:45 p.m., a motorist reported that her car was struck by a vehicle that left the scene while she was driving on South Park Avenue. The driver of the other car was arrested for driving while intoxicated in Lynbrook by the Lynbrook Police Department at 9:23 p.m.

Lost property

At 12:43 p.m. on Jan. 26, a resident notified police that she lost her handicap parking permit.

A resident reported that he lost her necklace and a bottle of prescription medication in his apartment on Jan. 27 at 1:49 p.m.

Arrest

On Jan. 26 at 12:48 a.m., a 33-year-old Wheatley Heights resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and traffic offenses on Peninsula Boulevard.

At 10:05 a.m. on Jan. 26, a 54-year-old Rockville Centre resident was arrested for an open federal arrest warrant for conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operation of a vehicle with a suspended registration and traffic offenses in the vicinity of North Centre Avenue.

A 61-year-old Ronkonkoma resident was arrested on Jan. 27 at 7:10 a.m. and charged with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct after refusing to leave Mercy Hospital when directed to do so by the facility’s staff.
