People gathered at the Phillips House Museum to have their antiques appraised, all with the hope of finding a hidden treasure among their old belongings.

There was a line outside the door as many village residents brought their treasures — paintings, sports memorabilia, glassware — to be appraised by Phillip Weiss and Rosario DiBendetto at the Phillips House Museum of Rockville Centre on Hempstead Avenue last Sunday. Because the appraisers donated their time, all proceeds from the Antiques Appraisal Day went directly to the newly-incorporated museum.
