It was Halloween all month long at the Center for Science, Teaching and Learning, which hosted its 12th annual Spooky Fest at the Tanglewood Preserve.

Ray Ann Havasy, executive director of The Center for Science, Teaching and Learning, said the event provided Long Islanders with children the perfect environment for Halloween family fun.

“Spooky Fest offers a one-of-a-kind experience with seasonal attractions and activities that families can enjoy together and build lasting memories,” Havasy said in a press release.

Kids and parents across Long Island came dressed in costume to participate in the festivities, which included Halloween crafts, fortune telling, face painting, spooky stories, an interactive glow tent, a DJ playing Halloween classics, special guests and some frightening attractions.

Families also enjoyed the opportunity to interact with all of the benevolent costumed characters including witches, princesses, ghosts, aliens, scarecrows, butterflies and dinosaurs.

This year’s main attraction was the family-friendly “Enchanted Halloween Walk,” which featured dozens colorful lights and decorations. And for the older crowd, “The Spooky Woods,” provided attendees with a mild fright during this quarter-mile walk featuring animatronic zombie dinosaur and other haunted Halloween displays.
