Hewitt girls help out

Posted

Twenty-six fifth graders from Hewitt Elementary School donated their time and effort to help support the Adopt-a- Family program in Rockville Centre this past Wednesday night, Dec. 15. Two 10-year-olds — Maria Brunetta and Julia Baxley —invited classmates to come to a wrapping party in which each guest was asked to donate basic household necessities. All of the donations were put into baskets, then wrapped, and will be donated to needy families this holiday season. The children came out in full support, and together they filled and wrapped 32 baskets.  The girls plan to make this an annual tradition.
