It's batter up for the Rockville Centre Little League

Rockville Centre’s Little League season got its start Saturday as local officials including Mayor Mary Bossart, Deputy Mayor Chuck Joyce, trustees Kevin Glynn and Ed Oppenheimer, Police Commissioner Charles Gennario, Village Administrator Frank Quigley, Nassau County Legislator Joe Scannell, Hempstead Councilman Tony Santino and Sen. Dean Skelos joined players, coaches and parents on the annual parade from South Side Middle School to Hickey Field. There was a brief opening day ceremony and long time board members and former baseball and softball vice presidents Jim Tarpey and Marcie Kaplan tossed the first pitches in the opening day games.
