Local kids help kids in need

Cub Scout Den 11, comprised of 2nd grade boys from Hewitt and Watson elementary schools, spent an afternoon filling boxes for Operation Christmas Child.

They collected items from home and also contributed money to purchase items from local stores to help fill up the boxes, and to cover the cost of postage fees. Each boy also made a Christmas card to include in his box. The boxes were delivered to St. Mark’s United Methodist Church where they were mailed off to needy children. Troop leaders said the boys had a great time doing this charitable work.
