There's something for everyone in Rockville Centre this weekend. Village residents who want to get out and enjoy the fall-like weather predicted by forecasters for Saturday and Sunday have a number of local options from which to choose.

On Friday night, village teens and their teen-aged guests can enjoy Midnight Disco Bowling from 9:45-midnight at RVC Lanes on Maple Avenue, sponsored by the Rockville Centre Youth Council. For $8, participants can enjoy two hours of bowling with shoes and dessert thrown in.

On Saturday, the Lions Club is hosting its annual Duck Race and fall festival from noon to 4 p.m. at Centennial Park at Mill River. New this year is a performance showcase, "So You Think You Can Sing," for children between the ages of 5 and 18.

Also on Saturday afternoon into evening, there is "Kicking for a Cure," a fundraiser on the North Field of the Skelos Athletic Complex from 2 p.m. - 10 p.m. for village resident Gus Sellitto who has been diagnosed with a rare type of cancer. The benefit soccer games, along with food, desserts and beverages have been organized by 16-year-olds Ben Sellitto (516) 705-0131 and Jim Ryan (516) 763-0734. All proceeds will be donated to the Sarcoma Foundation of America in honor of Gus.

Don't forget the Hewitt Fair on Sunday, from 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. on the lawn of the Hewitt Elementary School at Hempstead and DeMott avenues. The day is filled with games, prizes, food, raffles and more for the whole family.

Also this weekend, running through Halloween, is the annual St. Mark's Pumpkin Patch, in its ninth year. Village residents are welcome to visit the church and pick up a variety of pumpkins, apples, mums, Indian corn, hay and gourds between 10 a.m. and sundown on Saturday. On Sunday, the sale is open from noon to dusk.
