Marking 9/11 with music and prayer

Posted

Rockville Centre residents are invited to join the Molloy College community as they fill the skies with music.

On Sept. 11, between 1 and 2:30 on the grounds outside of Kellenberg Hall and the Wilbur Arts Center, the Molloy College community will honor the events of that day with music. Bring a blanket, a beach chair, a picnic lunch and your voice… everyone is invited to sing!

The September Concert Foundation was created in April 2002 for the sole purpose of organizing an annual area-wide music festival in New York, in remembrance of the events of September 11, 2001 and to celebrate universal humanity. Their vision is to mark the day as a day of music and prayers for a peaceful world year after year, and to build it to become the largest people’s concert in the world, and possibly a multi-city event. The September Concert is based on the

principles of musical equality, freedom, accessibility and the spirit of giving.
