Police seek suspect in attempted Rockville Centre bank robbery

Nassau County detectives are investigating an attempted bank robbery at the Front Street Citibank branch last Saturday afternoon.

According to police, a white man entered the building at 41 Front Street at 2:55 and placed a note with the word “ARMED,” along with a brown plastic bag into a female bank teller’s window. Police said the teller saw the note, got up and walked away. The suspect then took the note and the bag back, and left the bank without any money, police said.

No customers and four employees were in the bank at the time of the incident. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late 30’s, 6’2” tall, with a slim build. He was wearing a white front zippered hoodie, blue jeans, a knit winter hat and dark sunglasses.
