Arrests

Curtis M. Eskew, 17, of Elm Street, Oceanside, was arrested on March 29 at 10:40 p.m. at the corner of S. Park Avenue and Merrick Road and charged with criminal possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of marijuana and a vehicle traffic law violation after police observed him driving a 2008 Chrysler.

Johnny Miller Jr, 38, of Avenue H, Brooklyn, was arrested on March 31 and charged with criminal mischief following a disturbance with MTA personnel on Sunrise Highway.

Daniel D’Ambrosio, 23, of Olive Boulevard, South Hempstead, was arrested on April 3 at 1:23 a.m. near Morris Avenue and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana and having an open container of alcohol.

Robbery

On March 30, a 10-year-old boy from N. Forest Avenue was allegedly assaulted during an attempted robbery by two Rockville Centre children, 10 and 12-years-old while at the corner of Lee and Maple avenues. Police said the pair was trying to take the victim’s Ipod and bicycle. The two were found by police and taken to the First Precinct for processing by the Nassau County Police Department’s Juvenile Aid Bureau.

Larcenies

On March 29, a man from Massapequa told police that between March 29 at 5 p.m. and 6:15 p.m., someone broke the passenger side window of his 2004 Honda and stole a GPS valued at $250 while it was parked behind 100 Merrick Road.

On March 29, an Arbor Lane resident reported to police that his 2005 Ford van was stolen from behind the Park Avenue Deli, 276 Merrick Road, between March 29 at 9 p.m. and March 30 at 5:15 a.m.

On March 31, a woman from Strathmore Lane reported to police that her cell phone was stolen from her bag while she was at the Bally’s Fitness Club, 60 Merrick Road, on March 26 between 9:30 a.m. and 7 p.m.

A Fonda Road resident told police on April 1 that someone stole her pocketbook while she was at the Starbucks at 21 N. Park Ave. at 9:15 a.m.

On April 2, the store manager of the CVS Pharmacy, 155 Sunrise Highway, reported that a sales associate tried to stop a woman with two children who was suspected of removing baby formula from the store without paying. The woman was seen leaving in a gray Hyundai and the license plate was obtained by a witness.

Criminal mischief

On April 1, police responded to a dispute in the rear parking lot of 255 Merrick Road where a 2006 Chrysler was reportedly damaged by someone at the scene.

Also on April 1, a woman from Baldwin told police that the driver side mirror of her 2010 Volvo was damaged while it was parked in Municipal Parking Field 27 between 9 a.m. and noon.

Identity theft

A Virginia Avenue resident told police on March 30 that someone used her Macy’s credit card to make purchases totaling $3,200 without her permission.

Unusual incident

On April 4, a man from N. Long Beach Road reported to police that between March 31 at 9 a.m. and April 1 at 9 a.m., someone withdrew $1,300 from his Bank of America account using his debit card information without permission.

Graffiti

On March 29, a superintendent of a Grand Avenue building told police that someone damaged the building sometime between March 28 at 10 p.m. and the next morning at 9 a.m.
