Rockville Centre Letters to the Editor

Congrats to Murray and Company

To the Editor:

Congratulations to Mayor Murray’s village board for the last four years. They have delivered two budgets under the state tax cap. Village services are the best on Long Island. We now have the convenience of paying our electric, water, traffic fines and real estate taxes online in the comfort of our living rooms.

This election is about no report card. Our spirit of competing ideas is without a voice. I believe to keep my little voice heard, I will write my name in for mayor on June 16. I would recommend everyone votes, whether they write their own names in or vote the party line. Election Day is the day when all voices are heard.

In the next four years, I hope the village board stops the practice of choosing businesses over the residents when it comes to building and parking variances. It is important that they look after the residents living on the west side. They need to apply the parking code equally to all.

It would be a great service if all the public meetings are televised. Not one of the AvalonBay Planning Board hearings was televised. It would be great if all the Board of Zoning Appeals and planning decisions are announced in the Herald.

I hope the good work continues and the areas of residents’ concerns are addressed.
