Suffolk County police arrested a Rockville Centre man on May 15 and charged him with the illegal sale of prescription pills from his West Babylon pizzeria.

Francesco Miceli, 50, of Smith Street, was arrested after a three-month investigation into the alleged sale of a controlled substance at Miceli Brothers Pizzeria and Restaurant, at 1030 Little East Neck Road in West Babylon.

Miceli has no familial or business relationship with Luca Miceli, the owner of Mr. Miceli Pizzeria and Italian Restaurant on Park Avenue in Rockville Centre.

Francesco Miceli is accused of selling illegal oxycodone hydrocholoride pills on numerous occasions. Detectives and police officers executed a search warrant at the restaurant at 6:30 p.m. on May 15, and arrested him.

Miceli was charged with seven counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was arraigned at Suffolk County’s First District Court in Central Islip on May 16.

“Basically, Mr. Miceli has never been in trouble with the law,” said his attorney, Carmelo Garufi. “He’s a family man and he has two sons. He maintains his innocence.”
