Rockville Centre residents kick for a cure

It would have been Gus Sellitto’s 54th birthday, and he would have been happy and proud of his family. Organizers of last Saturday’s soccer fundraiser said it was a perfect day and they sincerely appreciated the community’s generosity and assistance in support of Kicking for a Cure in Gus’s honor. This event would not have been as successful without the incredible support of local families, the RVC Soccer Club, which donated two grand prize baskets and publicized the event, Buscos, which donated the barbecue and countless volunteers who baked, donated baskets, set up, refereed, and stayed throughout the day to help in every way. The incredible turnout and support raised over $9,000 on the field, and over $1,500 in on line donations, which are still rolling in. The funds will be contributed to the Sarcoma Foundation of America in memory of Gus Sellitto, and will help with its mission – to find a cure in our time.
