Marking the 10th anniversary of the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, the Village of Rockville Centre will host two commemorations.

The first, a remembrance, will take place at noon on Sunday in the Recreation Center, at 111 N. Oceanside Road. The short program will be held near “New York Remembers,” the state-sponsored exhibit of museum-quality artifacts, and the stories behind them, that are on display at the Rec Center through the end of September.

The village’s annual Candlelight Vigil, at the Sept. 11 memorial in the northwest corner of the Village Green, at Maple and Lee avenues, is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23. All are welcome, and participants are asked to bring candles.
