Long time Rockville Centre resident Rosemary Clark Nolan died on July 4 at the age of 81 in her home on Lakeview Avenue in the Greystone section of the village. She had been receiving hospice services and was surrounded by family and her caretaker, Irene, at the time of her death.

A devout parishioner of St. Agnes, she was active in its Mothers Club and its Bowling League. Her home on the northwest corner of Lakeview and Morris avenues, renowned for its wiffleball field replete with major league baseball banners, was on the St. Agnes House Tour.

Mrs. Nolan was widowed at the age of 36 with seven children; the youngest was 8-months-old at the time. In 1972 she married Arthur Morr, her husband for 20 years.

A gracious hostess, Mrs. Nolan was also known for her excellent sense of humor.

She was the beloved wife of the late Walter F. Sr., and the loving mother of Pan Schaefer (Bob), Walter Nolan, Stephen Nolan (Peggy), Kathleen Nolan-Cohn (Al), Michael Nolan, Gerard Morr (Lori) and Kenneth Morr (Jackie). She was the dear sister of George L. Clark Jr. and Ronnie McNicholas.

Mrs. Nolan was also the cherished grandmother of Kristen, Lauren, Bobby, Billy, Megan, Danny, Jillian, Walter, Keenan, Brian, Matthew, Caleigh, Nolan and James, and the great grandmother of Joseph and Emily. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She lay in repose at Macken Mortuary on July 6. A funeral Mass was held the next day at St. Agnes Cathedral. Due to illness, her dear friend Fr. Thomas Griffiths, of the Immaculate Conception Monastery in Jamaica, Queens, was unable to officiate. Msgr. William Koenig was the main celebrant of the Mass and another dear friend, Deacon Thomas Costello, delivered the eulogy and offered graveside prayers. Interment at the Cemetery of the Holy Rood in Westbury immediately followed the funeral.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 245 Old Country Road, Melville, N.Y. 11747.
