Luck was in the air as hundreds packed into the Sandel Senior Center on April 29 for its annual Monte Carlo Night.
Organized by the Friends of Senior Services — a local non-profit which helps raise money for the center — the casino themed event is one of Sandel’s largest fundraisers.
More than a dozen local businesses co-sponsored the night and David Wong, the former owner of the venerable Palace of Wong was the honoree.
Recently, FOSSI has helped fund a number of large-scale projects at the center, such as motorized doorways, new bathrooms, a heat curtain for the front entrance and a brand new handicap accessible bus.
All of these items were emblazoned with signs for the night, indicating that they were paid for through fundraisers such as this.
