Sandel Center hosts annual holiday boutique

Posted

Thanks to the annual Holiday Boutique at the Sandel Senior Center, shoppers didn’t have to travel far to find unique gifts for their loved ones this holiday season.

The event included a variety of small businesses, many from right here on Long Island, who were there to provide handcrafted and affordable holiday gift ideas.

One of the businesses, Peace, Love and Hot Chocolate, was created in 2017, when the owner, Seth Rothstein, found an old hot cocoa recipe in his grandmother’s attic. Each is sold in a mason jar with marshmallows and either chocolate chips or sprinkles.

In the spirit of the season, the Sandel Center ‘decked the halls’ in festive holiday décor. Seniors and volunteers wore fun, cheerful outfits, while people went around shopping for last-minute stocking stuffers. And since everyone at the Sandel Center was especially nice this year, they even got paid a special visit from the big man, himself, Santa Claus.
