Last Saturday, the Chamber of Commerce held its second Food and Wine Festival, and it was an unparalleled success.
Restaurants from all over Rockville Centre came to Front Street for the outdoor festival. They brought with them samples of their best and most popular dishes.
To wash down all the delicious food, guests had the option of many different wines from Long Island and New York vineyards, as well as beer from tons of local breweries.
More than 1,300 people attended the event, which was a kick-off for the two-week-long Rockville Centre Restaurant Week, which is ongoing.
“I think the goal of the event is to get people to try and understand what food and wonderful wine we have in the village,” said Greg Schaefer, vice president of the Chamber of Commerce. “And I think that this event is only going to get bigger in the future.”
