South Side High School set to graduate class of 2010

The 119th commencement ceremony of South Side High School will be held on June 25, at 5 p.m. in the Hofstra University Arena.

The Valedictory address will be delivered by Alyssa Ehrlich and the Salutatory address will be given by Lori Ying.

The officers of the senior class of 2010 include Cathy Mackey, president; Peter Strong, vice-president,; Julie Marazzo, secretary and Brett Cohen, treasurer. Faculty class advisors are Tara McElynn and Jennifer May.

The officers of the Student Government include: President Kevin Remy; 1st Vice-President Samantha Koukoulas; 2nd Vice President Chris Delbello; Secretary Maria Passarelli; and Treasurer Jackie Bellando. The Student Government faculty advisor is Marcy Pedone.

The Laurel Awards, given annually to the senior boy and girl who have been most involved in extra-curricular activities during their high school career, will be presented at graduation. Recipients of the Richard S. Beyers School-Community Service Award will also be announced. And the Alumni Association will also grant The Centennial Awards. Additional awards for the 2009-2010 school were presented to members of the class of 2010 at the Varsity “S” Dinner on June 8 and the Awards Assemblies on June 9 and 10.

South Side High School Principal Dr. Carol Burris will present the 286 students of the class of 2010 to the members of the Board of Education for their diplomas. Rockville Centre Board of Education Vice President Stephen Kriss will address the audience.
