Student is Reflections contest winner

Congratulations to all SSMS students who participated in this year’s PTA Reflections Contest, “The Magic of the Moment.” Creative entries were celebrated in the various fine arts of literature, visual arts, photography, and music.

The literature of Marty Capuano, Grade 6; the photography of Hannah O’Connor, Grade 8; the visual artwork of Arianna Schaden, Grade 6; and the music of Joshua Curtis, Grade 8 were all works judged and selected as PTA County Qualifiers.

Most notable congratulations goes out to Joshua Curtis for his original musical composition, which was both written and performed by him — his music was chosen as a finalist at the county level, and his work will now proudly stand as a competitor at the next state level competition.  He and his family celebrated at the Nassau Region Reflections Reception on April 18.
