Susan Williams facing additional charges

Former Rockville Centre resident Susan Williams, who is accused of hiring a hit man to kill her estranged husband, was headed back to jail on Monday after a grand jury indicted her on additional charges — a felony count of criminal possession of a forged instrument and a misdemeanor charge of criminal solicitation.

Williams, 43, was arrested in early March on conspiracy and criminal solicitation charges after allegedly offering an undercover Nassau County police officer, posing as a hit man, $20,000 to kill her husband, Peter Williams. Authorities said they had her on video surveillance giving the officer a $500 deposit for the murder.

Williams is now also accused of forging her husband’s signature on a life insurance policy to make herself the owner.

Judge Norman St. George raised her bail to $2 million bond or $1 million cash.

It had originally been set at $1 million bond or $500,000 cash and Williams had been out on bond that was reduced to $500,000 in late March. Her attorney said he would file an appeal to get the bond reduced again.

Williams has pleaded not guilty to all charges. If convicted, she faces up to 25 years in prison. She is due back in court on May 25.
