Teachers face off, and everyone wins

Teachers from the Covert and Wilson elementary schools in Rockville Centre met on the court on April 4, facing off in a volley ball match and raising money for charity.

The game, which the Wilson teachers won, raised $2,362, which will be split between the two schools.

Wilson will be donating its proceeds to the Ronald McDonald House and Covert will be donating to The Raymar Children’s Fund.

The Raymar Children’s Fund was created to provide financial assistance and enrichment programs for both the South Hempstead and Rockville Centre communities. Some of the organizations that have benefited from the fund are Long Beach East and West Elementary Schools, St. Baldrick’s, Project Linus, American Cancer Society, March of Dimes, Camp Anchor and families from neighboring communities which were directly impacted by Hurricane Sandy. The fund promotes the appreciation of philanthropy in children.
