Valley Stream robbery suspects arrested

Police say three stole cameras from Radio Shack

Police arrested three men they say robbed a Radio Shack in Valley Stream on Wednesday afternoon.

According to authorities, 21-year-old Michael Silva, of Ralph Avenue in Brooklyn, and 24-year-old Tyler Wilder, of Bushwick Avenue n Brooklyn, were cutting alarmed security wires from digital cameras on display at the Sunrise Highway electronics store. They were reportedly observed by the store manager hiding the cameras in their pockets at about 2:30 p.m.. When the manager confronted the pair, they fled the scene, according to police.

The manager followed the two subjects and observed them entering a tan Chrysler Town and Country minivan, which police say was being driven by 23-year-old James Moore of Hollis, Queens.

Plainclothes officers from the 4th Precinct stopped the van on Sunrise Highway at Ocean Avenue in Rockville Centre and arrested the three suspects. Police say all the stolen merchandise was recovered.

Wilder, Silva and Moore were each charged with second-degree robbery and fourth-degree grand larceny. They were arraigned on Thursday in First District Court.
