South Side High School alumni Army Reserve Sgt. Edward B. Hynes, an imagery analyst with four years of military service, has been mobilized and activated for deployment overseas to a forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Hynes, the son of David and Susan S. Hynes of Rockville Centre, is normally assigned to the 323rd Military Intelligence Battalion on Staten Island. The 2001 South Side High School graduate received a bachelor's degree in 2005 from Rider University.
