Across Time & Place: Treasures from the Permanent Collection
This rotating exhibition highlights a broad range of works by 19th and 20th century American and European artists from the Heckscher Museum’s Permanent Collection. Of particular interest is Étienne Berne-Bellecour’s monumental Embarkation Maneuver, 1882, which factually depicts the departure of a regiment of cuirassiers following the Franco-Prussian War. Barbara Roux: Environments

Jim Torok: New Work

Using the Lessons of the Holocaust to Teach Tolerance
This contextualized history explains the 1930s’ increase of intolerance, the reduction of human rights, and the lack of intervention that enabled the persecution and mass murder of millions of Jews and others, including people with disabilities, Roma and Sinti (Gypsies), Jehovah’s Witnesses, Gays, and Polish intelligentsia.
