Arbor Day tree planting unites Island Park

The Village of Island Park and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Nassau County, held a successful Arbor Day tree-planting event took place on the Village Green. The day saw active participation from local and members from various organizations including the Cornell Extension, Lincoln Orens Middle School Builders Club, and Island Park Library joined forces to plant a Swamp White Oak.

Cornell Cooperative Extension is an education system connecting Cornell University’s research with regional and county-based educators and partners across the state.

Island Park Mayor Michael McGinty and the village board expressed gratitude for the partnership with Cornell and highlighted plans for further collaboration with Cornell Extension to enhance the greenery in the community.
