The Valley Stream Grace Thunderettes took home several titles from the International Baton Twirling Competition in Myrtle Beach, S.C. in June.

The Thunderette Sensations won first place with their trio routine, and the Thunderette Diamonds won first place with their dance and twirl routine.

Individual awards were won by Stefania Cuomo, who took first place for her solo routine, Natalie Becker, who won fourth place for her solo routine, and Elizabeth Wasek, who won All-Around Champion for her solo, two-baton and freestyle routine.

The winners in the marching competition were Isabella Healey with first place and Shannon Murphy with fourth place. Marie Tronsor won first place in modeling.

The girls plan to participate in the next International Baton Twirling Competition in Disney World, Florida in February. They are accepting donations to help fund the trip through the group’s GoFundMe page.

Registration is open for summer and fall classes. For more information, call Nancy Wasek at (516) 225-2642 or email gracethunderettes@hotmail.com.
