There are some events that are a staple of the village’s summer camp program at Barrett Park, and one of them is the annual field day competition. The event is known as Color Wars, where children split into two teams and wear either red or blue.
Campers rotated through various activities including the tug-of-war, scooter and relay races, an obstacle course, water balloon toss and more on July 18. The counselors also donned red and blue, simultaneously supervising the activities and cheering on the children. The event ended with the counselors themselves doing battle in the tug-of-war.
At the end of the day, points were totaled up and the red team came out on top. The next major event at Camp Barrett is Carnival Day on Aug. 8.
