Nassau County police arrested two local teens this week for a robbery that occurred on Monday, during which a 16-year-old boy was injured and his iPhone was stolen.

The victim was walking with a friend on Haven Avenue when a late model Nissan Maxima approached them from behind. The car stopped and two male subjects got out, punched the victim in the face and demanded property, according to police. The subjects took his phone and fled in an unknown direction.

The victim was driven to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

After an investigation, police arrested a 16-year-old suspect at his home on Wednesday. A 17-year-old suspect surrendered to police on Thursday. Both were charged with second-degree robbery and were arraigned on Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.
