A tasty tradition in Valley Stream

The Valley Stream Historical Society hosted its annual Gingerbread House Contest on Dec. 3 at the Pagan-Fletcher Restoration. Guests were invited to come in and judge their favorite edible creations.

First place went to Girl Scouts from Troop 2348 at Holy Name of Mary Church for their gingerbread Village Green. Aidan Dombrosky, 7, took home second prize for his gingerbread house and 15-year-old Amanda Lee won third place for her creation “Necco Gold.”

Before the winners were announced, Pat Baldassare, a Public Safety officer from the village, led a gingerbread house icing and decorating demonstration where he was joined by Mayor Ed Fare, also the Historical Society’s chairman of the board.
