Andy Warhol: The Photographic Legacy Program
On exhibit are a selection of photograph, both Polaroids and gelatin silver prints, by the noted Pop artist Andy Warhol. This group of photographs includes celebrities such as author Truman Capote, model/actress Grace Jones and ice hockey player Wayne Gretsky. Through Sept. 20. Burton Morris: Pop!
The acclaimed artist Burton Morris presents his personal world of popular American icons that puts a delightful spin on everyday objects and motifs. This exhibit features 35 examples of Morris’ work in his post-Pop style that boldly projects high energy and fun. In his paintings, Subjects such as a steaming coffee cup, a swirling martini and a dancing popcorn box all take on a new life under his paintbrush. Through Sept. 27. Gordon Cheung & Jonathan Seliger
An exhibition of two important contemporary artists. Gordon Cheung uses Financial Times stock listings in his multimedia paintings. His paintings are virtual-reality environments which comment on the ability of stock exchange numbers to deliver a “promised land” to people’s lives. Jonathan Seliger works with paint and canvas to produce three-dimensional structures. His works are included in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Brooklyn Museum, among others. Opens Sunday, Sept. 20, through Jan. 3. Long Island Quilters Guild Exhibit

Norman Rockwell
An exhibit of Saturday Evening Post illustrator Norman Rockwell’s images that defined America and Americans, in this country and abroad. The exhibition includes Rockwell’s iconic Four Freedoms series of patriotic paintings symbolizing President Roosevelt’s wartime aims: Freedom of Speech, Freedom to Worship, Freedom from Want and Freedom from Fear. Paper Chase: Works On Paper By William Merrit Chase And His Contemporaries

Gilbert & Sullivan Yiddish Light Opera Company
Gilbert & Sullivan Yiddish Light Opera Company of L.I., a cultural organization performing at libraries, senior housing, and charity events, is casting lead roles and chorus for Der Yiddisher Mikado. Performances take place in October, November and December. The roles and the story are the same as the English version.  Knowledge of Yiddish is not required.
