Students from the James A. Dever School in Valley Stream District 13 were recognized last week by Assemblyman Ed Ra (R-Franklin Square) for their participation in his first Summer Reading Challenge. Ra, who represents the 21st Assembly District, commended the students for reading and learning during the summer months, and noted their achievements would be recognized both in and out of the classroom.

“Our local schools strive to provide the strong foundation our students need today to help them achieve success tomorrow,” said Ra. “It was my honor to challenge the students of Dever School to become better students and engage them in reading during the summer months.”

Joining Ra for the presentation were Principal Darren Gruen, librarian Roxanne McDonald, Superintendent Dr. Adrienne Robb-Fund and Assistant Superintendent for Business Meredith Brosnan.
