Two drivers and one passenger are recovering after an auto accident at the intersection of Franklin Avenue and Corona Avenue in North Valley Stream on Oct. 2.

Malverne Fire Department responded to the accident at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday morning with two fire trucks and about 12 firefighters, according to reports.

When officials arrived at the scene, Fire Chief Scott Edwards said, one driver and one passenger were found in the front seat of one vehicle, while the driver of the other vehicle was trapped inside. Firefighters pried open the doors of the second vehicle to free the driver and removed all three victims from their respective cars.

Two of the vehicles involved in the collision were a Ford Edge and a Nissan Sentra, according to reports.

The victims were then taken to the hospital in an ambulance by Nassau County Police EMS — one of the drivers being transported to Franklin Hospital — though their conditions are still unknown.
