'Bouquet bandit' robs Valley Stream bank

Police are looking for the man who robbed Chase Bank in the north end of the village last Friday afternoon.

According to Nassau County Police, the man entered the bank, located at 270 N. Central Ave., and handed the teller a note demanding cash. He obtained an unknown amount of money and fled the scene. The robbery took place shortly after 2 p.m. on March 23.

The suspect is described as a black male, 35 to 40 years old, wearing a blue athletic jacket, glasses on top of his head and carrying a purple bouquet of flowers. He was last seen heading east on Raisig Avenue.

There were eight employees and two customers in the bank at the time of the robbery. No one was injured. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 244-TIPS.
