Businesses get behind Valley Stream Fit Club

Posted

The Valley Stream Fit Club, which will debut in February, has attracted the attention of many local businesses. Marsha Guerrier, who is starting the organization, accepted a donation of $150 from Roseann Vercillo, owner of the Allstate Vercillo Agency on Central Court in North Valley Stream on Jan. 18. Vercillo said after reading about the Fit Club in the Herald, she liked the idea and wanted to contribute, and also wanted to help a fellow Valley Stream woman with her new venture. Guerrier said the money will be used for T-shirts for Fit Club members, and to purchase dumbbells.

The group received a commitment from Baxter’s Sporting Goods for the T-shirt screening, and from Dance Xpressions for exercise space. The Motivational Center will also provide one free nutrition lecture per month.

The Valley Stream Fit Club’s first workout is set for Feb. 1. If you are interested in joining, call Guerrier at (917) 940-4395.
