Feb. 16 marked a milestone for Valley Stream public schools — it was the 100th day of the school this year. Students and teachers celebrated the important day at the Robert W. Carbonaro School in Districrt 24. It began with a parade through the school’s hallways as children, led by Principal Dr. Lisa Conte, sang “Today is the 100th Day of School.”
Students were also wearing “100” glasses, crowns and signs that read “I am 100 days smarter.”
Back in their classrooms, children counted 100 objects, did 100 exercises and listened to stories about the number 100.
