More than 400 students showed up for Central High School’s annual Pink Fair on Oct. 16 to raise money for breast cancer research and increase awareness about the disease, which affects Long Islanders at a rate 13 to 18 percent higher than the statewide average.

Students participated in different activities at various booths, including pink hair-dying, nail-painting and writing messages to people battling breast cancer. They also created a banner that they covered with signatures and messages.

The fair was the school’s third.
