Coloring for the capital

Several District 24 art students were honored at the Dec. 16 Board of Education meeting for having their work selected to be on display during the New York State School Boards Association annual conference in Albany.

Those recognized were third-graders Erin Laxton, Randy Ragubir, Nicole Casillo and Tessa Yan, fourth-graders Joseph Campbell and Michelle Mantooth, fifth-graders Jessica Ma, Christopher Kotz and Nicole Manassero, and sixth-graders Alyssa Gennero, Noel Fernandez and Danielle Quaranto. Presenting the awards were art teachers Jane Berzner and Patricia Horowitz.

Kotz's piece was selected to become a part of the association's permanent art collection.
