Moscow State Radio Symphony Orchestra

Music director Alexei Kornienko conducts the Moscow State Radio Symphony Orchestra in an all-Tchaikovsky program at Tilles Center, Saturday, Feb. 20, at 8 p.m. Pianist Alexander Sinchuk is the guest soloist. The program includes Tchaikovsky’s Suite No. 4 (Mozartiana), Piano Concerto No. 1 and Symphony No. 1 (Winter Dreams). Maestro Kornienko is known as a member of the elite “middle generation” of Russia’s great conductors; his skill and ability in interpreting contemporary scores is praised throughout the world of classical music. The orchestra was founded in 1978 for the purpose of broadcasting the symphonic repertoire throughout Russia, on both radio and television, and since then, has developed a varied program of live subscription and individual performances. The orchestra has performed throughout Europe, Asia and the United States, and records regularly.
