Dever students get to pick a book

Students at James A. Dever Elementary School gathered around tables stacked with books of all kinds recently from which they could choose one to take home for free.

The PTA-sponsored event, called a READ distribution, is held to promote reading for pleasure, according to District 13. Fiction and non-fiction books were available, including the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, Little Women, Bright Eyes Brown Skin, Holes and the Junie B. Jones series.
