District 13 will soon have a new superintendent, and her name is Dr. Adrienne Robb-Fund. She was appointed as schools chief for Valley Stream's largest elementary district by the Board of Education on April 27.

Robb-Fund, who has 38 years of experience in the education field, will replace Dr. Elizabeth Lison who is retiring at the end of the school year. She is currently the assistant superintendent for elementary education in the Commack School District.

She was chosen from four candidates who interviewed for the position, and from more than 60 who applied. Robb-Fund will receive a three-year contract and will make $195,000 in her first year.

Robb-Fund has experience as a special education teacher, reading specialist and elementary school assistant principal. She spent 21 years of her career in the Wantagh School District before becoming assistant superintendent in Commack.

She is married with two children and lives in Massapequa. Robb-Fund's first day on the job will be July 1.
