A press release from the county released Tuesday afternoon indicates the county's preparations for the expected snow storm.

"Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano has announced that the County is prepared for the major snowstorm expected to hit starting Wednesday. Forecasts are calling for 8 to 13 inches and blizzard-like conditions in Nassau County and surrounding areas.

“Nassau County is prepared for the snow,” said County Executive Mangano. “Our staff will be working hard to deal with the results of the storm, and our Public Works crews will make sure that the County’s roadways are cleared and safe. But I recommend that if you can, stay home until the storm is over. With fewer drivers on the road, the safer it will be for everyone.”
