Exploring Nature

Owl Prowl
Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary and Audubon Center offers another opportunity to get up close and personal with some mysterious creatures of the night on Friday. Owls, the stealth, silent hunters of the night, have become an integral part of myths, legends and popular entertainment. They are mostly portrayed as creepy haunters of old buildings and cemeteries, or evil denizens of the dark. Discover what fascinating creatures they actually are at a live owl presentation, then venture outside to hear calls of Great Horned and Eastern Screech Owls.
Friday, Dec. 10, 7-9 p.m. Registration required. $10. Location varies. Call Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary and Audubon Center for information, (516) 922-3200.
