The Valley Stream Historical Society hosted a gingerbread house decorating contest at the Pagan-Fletcher Restoration on Dec. 4.

After being treated to an icing demonstration by Mayor Ed Fare, participants had the opportunity to get creative and construct their own houses using icing and candy as their decorations.

Girl Scout Troop 2275 took home first prize for their creation of “snowy village.” Holy Name of Mary School came in second place for their construction of “candy dandy village,” while Girl Scout Troop 2259 placed third for their “candy corner.”
